CURRENT VACANCIES

We are always interested in meeting potential Teachers.  Please get in touch if you feel drawn towards our school. At the moment we have met our immediate needs for the academic year starting September 2025.

The Acorn School is an Outstanding school, pursuing an alternative, child-centered curriculum that is Waldorf-inspired. We are looking for Lower School Class Teachers to start now and through to September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to work within our warm, friendly and community-minded school.
Our pupils are 7-18yrs in small, nurturing classes. We believe in childhoods that are magical and pursue a consciously low-tech approach, especially throughout the Lower School.
The school was rated ‘Outstanding’ across all categories in its most recent Ofsted inspection (published May 2023). Ofsted recognised being a teacher at The Acorn School as a rewarding experience. As a teacher, we will encourage and respect your creativity. As part of a dynamic team, we meet weekly to develop our practice and there are lots of opportunities for CPD. We encourage and support regular cultural, outdoor and extracurricular trips. Our weeks finish on Friday at 1pm because we value family and personal time. And we have longer holidays than mainstream schools!

In the first instance, please contact opportunities@theacornschool.com, to let us know what you might be able to offer and we will send you some more information and talk about how you can get to know us.
